8 Sweat Tips for Cleaning Any Type of Floor

Don't break knee pads and bushes yet. Whether your Home floor is piece or tile, linoleum or cork, we've found the easiest and safest way to keep them looking spotless and new. Follow these guidelines for the right cleaners, the best tools, and the ideal technique for your particular type of floor. With the brightness base of each room, your whole house will look incredibly clean.

Hardwood floor cleaning

Hardwood floors usually have one of two finishes: polyurethane or wax. Not sure who you stand on? Rub your finger all over the surface, says Mag Roberts, president of Molly Med. If any smoke appears, the epoxy floor is likely waxed.

Sealed wood floors usually have a urethane, polyurethane, or polyacrylic coating. Roberts says it protects them from stains and water damage. To clean, mix a quarter of mild or pH-neutral soap with water in the bucket. Then grab a microfiber mop that works faster, like a Labman Wonder mop. This makes it ideal for hardwood floors that work best with barely damp mop. Also, it will help your vinyl floor to dry faster, so you won't have to wait long to return to the kitchen or living room. Clean high-traffic areas, such as kitchens, once a week. For low-trafficking areas, do a mop once a month.

If you have House wooden floors, this is how you close them. Because this type of floor can be damaged by even a small amount of water, keep damp surfaces away from that surface, and use a regular sweep, dust mop or vacuum instead.

Cleaning the floor in pieces

Your pieces may look like hardwood planks or natural stone tiles, but you still need to take care of them like a piece. The good news: Bill Deering, president of Laminate Flooring Company in Dubai, says very few things can damage a piece of commercial flooring. However, the panels are built in sun and light-resistant layers to maintain a new appearance for years. "It's important to keep the water out from under the panels," he said. Deering recommends dry mopping or vacuuming the  Parquet floor, making sure the machine is in tile mode (as opposed to carpet) so the better bar should be lifted. When necessary, clean the spot with a little damp mop. Dear Deering Advice: Never polish a crumbling floor. If the finish of the plaque looks bad, it is best to replace it.

Cork floor cleaning

The same quality that makes this natural substance so beautiful makes it very sensitive to water damage. Because it's so absorbent, most cork floors are sealed, but you still need to proceed with caution. Green Cleaning Coach, Leslie Richards, says, "To avoid frequent vacuum abrasives, you need to clean up the spreads quickly and wash the cork floor once a week."

Reichert suggests abandoning commercial cleaning products in favor of vinegar and soapy water solutions: Place 1/4 cup vinegar dish in a spray bottle with soap and a drop of warm water. Naturally, acidic vinegar works to break down soap dirt, build-up and disinfect. Do not shake the solution (which will cause suds), gently combine the ingredients gently in the spray bottle and throw it back and forth. Spray one part of the Out Door floor at a time and wipe with a damp microfiber mop as you go.

Bamboo floor cleaning

Bamboo is durable, beautiful - and in some cases softer and more durable and more expensive than hardwood floors. Unless you have a bamboo floor - the hardest, most durable type available - be extra careful about cleaning dirt and debris regularly. "Extra care should be taken, especially with the cost of bamboo," says Roberts, who uses a tennis ball to slowly pull out the numbers. She uses the same cleaning on bamboo as Hardwood: Mix a cup of mild or pH neutral soap in a bucket of water. Wipe off excess moisture with a dry microfiber cloth, barely swipe the luxury floor using damp wax.
